What is the difference bettween the Epiphone Les Paul custom, and the Epiphone Black Beauty 3?

Not sure which one to get, i dont know if the difference is worth the cost for the black beauty 3.What is the difference bettween the Epiphone Les Paul custom, and the Epiphone Black Beauty 3?
The differance is the number, and position of the humbuckers. The LP Custom has only two humbuckers. One bridge, on neck. The Black Beauty 3 has three humbuckers, bridge, middle, and neck. Depending on your level of playing the BB3 could benefit you, the only differance would be in tonal capabilities. With three humbuckers you would very likely produce a warmer tone while with two, though warm tones are still very possible, you will get a brighter tinnier sound.





This is done by changing the position of the pickup selector switch. (this is assumed that the BB3 has a 5 way selector, I don't know I've never personally played one.) In this switches up-most position (towards the roof) only the neck pickup is engaged. As you move it down to positions 4,3,2 and 1 it will change as follows:


-BB3-


5: Neck only


4: Neck/middle


3: Middle only


2: Middle/bridge


1: Bridge only








-LPC- (only 3 positions)


3: Neck only


2: Neck/Bridge


1: Bridge





There's no wrong way to go. Just play around with them at your music store and decide which one works best to find the sound that you like.

Depends on what tones you need. Try out both guitars. The black beauty has a middle pickup unlike the custom so if you think you'll need the tone from the middle pickup anytime in the future, then get the black beauty. If not, get the custom.
