Do you agree that the beauty is the curse in the world??

we treat people according to their appearence.the popular media encourages us doing that.Do you agree that the beauty is the curse in the world??
beauty equals jealous

but, at some point it's curse too.Do you agree that the beauty is the curse in the world??
no, but I have started to think of extreme beauty as a handicap. I mean they always have to look just right, they get everything because of the way they look, not by what they know. This isn't jealousy, far from it, I had two step daughters, one who was deaf, and suffered a rare brain disorder which took her some years ago, the other was stunning, I mean terminally pretty. I worried much more about the good looking one, she was so shallow and so vain didn't think she had to do anything because she was a goddess.....Unfortunately I have seen this in way to may really good looking people to think anything else. i wouldn't wish it n anyone!
ows, tell it to the bloodbank, beauty is why we want to live
ignorance is the true curse of the world, but religion is a close second( not faith )
I think that we have become too selective about what is beautiful. But beauty in itself is not a bad thing. We need to realize that beauty is more than an aestetic property. People can have beautiful minds, spirits, hearts. We need to see the beauty in people's actions and characters!
Beauty may be subjective - but to me, there is nothing as beautiful as a woman............
Beauty isn't the curse, beauty allowed us to tell what mate was healthy as our species was developing. The current media fascination may be a curse, but not beauty itself.
its people's fondness towards beauty that is the curse not beauty itself. beauty can also be a gift. I can see what you want to say..
That would be a great question for Anna Nicole Smith, what a beauty she was. If she had been ugly I believe she would still be alive. She never would of married a rich old guy and had to go to court for years to get his money or had false friends and lovers who betrayed her. Yeah beauty is a curse it causes problems.
Beauty is a subjective evaluation. What may be beautiful to me, may be grotesque to you.
I agree, we do treat people in categories by how they look, but contemplate of the other kinds of beauty!!! How bout the the way it looks sitting behind a waterfall, or the waves crashing on a beach, or the sounds of a forest at night! That is true beauty! Focus ont hat and you will find more pleasure there, than with any other human as of yet!
No because we are what we have!
It's a gift... and a curse!0!
nah not really, it is just flaunted and messed up by the world and made too much of. Beauty is a blessing and the individual despite media screaming, can either just be happy with who he/she is and go on with life or they can ake it their whole life until reality of old age and death comes in.
Beauty is the thing which gives real enjoyment and happiness. Is it not?
And what's wrong with judging people and books (and business presentations, cars, etc.) by their cover?

It is a good, time-tested rule of thumb (or guideline), which implies that it's not perfect for every case...but nonetheless rules of thumb are necessary in human deliberations.

Beauty has always been an indicator of health. We're simply hardwired to be attracted to certain qualities, and these qualities happen to be beneficial for ensuring the reproduction of healthy babies. So since we don't have a person's full medical history or have the time to interview them to determine health (incl. mental health), we have to use rules of thumb, such as appearance, pedigree (what college they went to, or what job they have), friends (the company you keep), and other clues.

Imagine if we never judged things by appearances. Say you ate a carrot, and it tasted good and didn't kill you. The next carrot you see, you might assume that it will also taste good and is edible. If you don't make that assumption, you'd have to waste a lot of time suspiciously sniffing the carrot and reluctantly eating it to minimize any poison you digest. Ad naseum with every other food item.

If we didn't judge books by their cover, then we'd have to read a good deal of a book (or a trusted review source) before we'd ever be justified in buying one. It's a good rule of thumb that if a book has a good cover, then the author probably spent the same kind of thought and attention to the content; and the reverse is true as well, except for academic books that haven't learned the value of marketing and design.

Business proposals too: if a proposal looks like crap, that speaks to the quality of care and attention invested in putting together the proposal, i.e., low.

Anyway, in the ideal world, right, we shouldn't judge things by superficial appearances as our only data-point. But in the absence of other information, appearances are not a bad thing to go on...
