What is Elastin in beauty products?

and does it work or is i just false adversment like collagen? What is Elastin in beauty products?
The previous answer is correct but didn't explain why it is in cosmetics. Basically as you age you lose the Elastin. They put a chemical version of it in skin care and make up to replace the lost natural Elastin. It will ensure that your skin stays firmer and younger for a longer period of time. It also stimulates your skin to start producing it again. The same this goes for Collagen. It's a great thing for line prevention or to get rid of small lines. Especially around the eye area where the skin is 20% thinner. You lose both faster there due to the fact that the skin is in constant movement with blinking squinting etc. What is Elastin in beauty products?
Elastin is a protein in connective tissue that is elastic and allows many tissues in the body to resume their shape after stretching or contracting. Elastin helps skin to return to its original position when it is poked or pinched. Elastin is also an important load-bearing tissue in the bodies of mammals and used in places where mechanical energy is required to be stored.

(Think anti-aging products...)
